The badges shown with your names are for you; I hope you enjoy your badge, feel free to display them proudly you all rocked!

Jo: We hoped to record yours over the weekend but the weekend seems to have gotten away from us... we're so sorry for that, we will climb on top of that song and force it into musical submission very soon.

Deb's song however is right here:

With that I say to all of you Merry Christmas; be it naughty or nice, I hope that you can enjoy it.

and the winner is...

What did you just think I was gonna come right out and tell you?

Do you even know what I'm talking about?

Why the 2007 Kaos Holiday Lyric Contest of course!!!

If you'll take a trip back with me you may recall there were two categories;

Naughty.

and Nice.

We won't be talking about naughty things today. Only nice things.

Nice.

Wanna know about the naughty things?? Check in tomorrow for a podcast featuring not just one but three members of the Kaos Family.

Wanna know about the winners of the nice songs?

Good, because I want to tell you about them...

The runner up in the Nice category was a song called Christmas is for All of Us written by the lovely and talented Mielikki.

Here are a few comments on her song

DaddyKaos: Way too nice.

Mr. Kaos: Best lyric that typifies a Christmas song; Unoffensive, sappy, easy to rhyme and sing (actually this was Mr. Kaos' #1 choice)

NanaKaos: No comment.

CamiKaos: Warm and Christmassy

K Kaos: It gives a good feeling

But she's the runner up. I mean really she's tops... but that doesn't make her the winner.

So who did win?

Was it you, or you or you?

NO, No it wasn't. It was you Jo Beaufoix.

You're the winner!!!! The winner of the 2007 Kaos (Nice) Holiday Lyric contest. E-mail me sweetie and we'll get your prize taken care of.

Now for some notes on Ms. Beaufoix's song, Rudolph's 2nd Song:

DaddyKaos: It showed great imagination, knew subject matter well.

Mr Kaos: Longest story. I don't respond well to pimping and stacking the deck with the judges

Nana Kaos: No comment

Cami Kaos: Playful and catchy and appealed to my sense of ego.

K Kaos: Funny

Jo's song will be recorded. We hope to get it out before Easter ;)

As I said tomorrow please tune in for the winners of the Naughty category on our Holiday Podcast extravaganza!

xoxo CamiKaos

a happy cami is a...

well, a smug Cami to be frank...

I finished the NaNoWriMo insanity in 29 days.

29.

How many of you can say you wrote a 50,000+ word novel in 29 days?

Well okay, so you can Jo, and so can you Holly.

And I guess that there are plenty of other people that did this whole nanoblahblahwrimothingmajig that have already finished and they can say it too.

But so can I.

Me.

Cami of the Kaos.

Cami of the sleepless nights and child who doesn't eat.

Cami of the cute new holiday header.

Cami of the much bragging.

I did.

And while I was slaving away (woe, oh woe is me) I got an award.

I mean ANOTHER award, one in addition to this one:

(isn't it pretty?)

While I was kind of being neglectful of my house, my husband, my kid, my cats and even all of you, I still managed to rake in this lovely little somethin somethin from Dixiechick because while I was ignoring the world Lori was pimping me out like the super gal pal she is...

Lookie there babies, I'm an Underblog. Wait, no. This is an Underblog which would in turn make me an Underblogger.

Hmm... an Underblogger.

I wonder what I'm under.

***

All of that goodness, it should be enough. It would be enough for anyone really, but that's not all, no it's not.

I finally got some submissions in on the 2007 Kaos Holiday Lyric Contest. The judges will actually have something to judge! Hooray!

We're still taking songs though so send them on in if you have them (just a little hint... technically they are due on Friday before midnight however I won't be looking at my email inbox until Monday morning so I bet you can sneak one in late if you need).

what desparate sounds like

I have 4 days to write 21,638 words because I am a total slacker. Bert ends before this week does and I owe him blood... or chapters maybe... so instead of a real post you can hear the long format (10 minutes of your precious time) recorded idiocy that goes on when Mr. Kaos and I have a microphone and try to record a simple clip of music for a lyric contest... enjoy while I type until my fingers are out of skin.

(Listen carefully and around the 3:30 mark you may realize that Mr. Kaos has a big mouth and can't be trusted to keep a secret. Even from me. Oh and the $25 gift certificate is not the only prize the 2007 Kaos Holiday Lyric Contest Winner will receive)

let's make music

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!

With Thanksgiving a fading dot on the rear view mirror of the 2007 holiday season I feel like it's time to get down to business.

Holiday business.

And the first order of Holiday business is going to be the 2007 Kaos Holiday Lyric Contest.

Oh. yeah.

Mr. Kaos suggested this little contest and boy am I ever excited!

So without further ado let's get started...

Have a listen to this lovely little diddy Mr. Kaos composed and then review the rules... I'll wait... have a listen...

You may have noticed that the music was a little sparse. We're only giving you the bare bones melody so the rest of the music will be a surprise upon the song's big reveal (hint: think polka!).

If you need to download a copy to listen to obsessively until it's running through your veins like a holiday drug go here.

And now for the rules:

1. Each entry requires a title, a chorus, and a minimum of 2 verses (though we encourage more!).
2. Entries must be received by end of day Friday November 30, 2007.
3. By entering your lyrics you give consent for us to record perform and present your lyrics with this song in any way we see fit, though you will always be credited.
4. The winners (there will be 1 in each category) will each receive a $25 gift certificate to either amazon.com or itunes.
5. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges.

And now you need to write!

Songs must be submitted in one of two categories: Naughty or Nice. If it isn't Nice, and by Nice I mean child and family friendly then it's Naughty... If it's going to be Naughty... make it NAUGHTY. You may submit one song for each category.

Lyrics do not have to contain Christmas content they can be about what ever holiday you celebrate, but it must be a winter holiday or about the winter season.

When you have your lyrics ready please email them to me at: mommifiedme at gmail dot com with the subject line: Holiday Lyric Contest.

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and when all songs have been read, re-read and drunkenly sung at high volume our winners will be chosen.

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Feel free to comment here or send me an email...

Now go on, get started... this song isn't going to write its self.
