fit february.... where did you go?

I'm looking around... something seems suddenly different...

Could it be that we are somehow in the 3rd month of 2008? Because um... looking at the calendar and outside the window it's kind of looking that way to me.

Where is 2008 headed? Where did the after holiday calm go?

What happened to February?

There was this big thing happening in February... some sort of alliteration...

What was the word I paired with February? Fizzle, Fat, Food, Finger, Fluffy, Frankenstein?

Okay, we all know what it was... I shouldn't have given away the answer up at the top if I wanted to play this clever little game with you... but now that it's out and we all know what we're talking about I can ask the big question and give the big answer.

How did I do? I did well, really well. I stuck to my workouts, I kept them fun and easygoing... unless you count all the ab soreness and whatnot... but I was proud. The problem was that just as I was starting to feel a difference Mr. Kaos got sick. But I pushed on. I pressed through. I worked out while I tended to my sick husband. Then 2 days later K got sick. Still I pressed on.

But then a week after Mr. Kaos fell ill... I came down with the big fever, the aches, the pains, the coughing and the whole shebang. That and my new found codeine dependency put a stop to my workouts for the last week in February.

So to all of you who took part in Fit February (your names are listed over there for now... later they will be listed in their own Fit February hall of fame) I'm sorry I let you down...

But how did you do?

I kicked some major ASS!
Well, I can't get into kickboxing until this month, actually, dammit. So I made up my own kickboxing routine. I just kicked random strangers. You should've seen how they went down! The looks on their faces was priceless.
Seriously - I did really well. I did an assload of yoga, mostly. The weather here did not allow for much else. And of course I had some wacky sinus stuff going on, too. As you know.
You didn't let anyone down. Life happens. :)

You did 3 out of 4...I did 1 out of 4.

Still, that's more than January, right?

I am healthy now. March? Prepare to be rocked.

Finger February, that sounds fun.

How about Masturbating March?

(Almost happy birthday to us both.)

hey hey hey no no no - i was telling someone else that the illness you guys have should not mean you failed. you *can't* exercise when you are as ill as you are. so *i* think you just say the month of february existed from feb 1 until the day you fell ill. and THEN you did not fail!

parTICularly because i don't want to have to be gloating! i want to be joining! (i did all my workin' out!)

oh hey, i know! i did *extra* exercise, so anybody need some, i got it. you know, like averaging it out? so cami, you get an illness-pass, kim, you can share some of my extra workouts. then we're ALLL winners? yay? huh? can i get a woo hoo us? c'mon people, i'm standing here in this ridiculous cheerleader uniform all by myself and i'm going to catch a .... oh frig.

KIDDING!
HEALTHY!

loved you la radio last night, wifey!

I did fine up until I went back to work. That, honestly, was the kiss of death for me. But, I still have my gym membership, and plan on going...

I've beein doing great except for this past week. I ran out of clean clothes, so it's been 4 days since I went to the gym.. EEK!

We'll be there tomorrow!

You didn't fizzle out, you got sick.. so what Holly said.. your Feb ended the day you got sick!

First, I must say:

I checked the clock when I got home
and realized I was alone
sat for hours by the window
wondering where did you go?

(Mighty Mighty Bosstones)

Secondly,
March 6th.

I did ok! 7lbs, not 10, but getting better at loving my skin. Let's make it a fit march too, hmmm?

I did a hell of a lot better than i thought i would. I doubt i lost any weight but i'm certainly fitter than I was.

Can't say I accomplished much, looks like about 2 lbs down and had hoped for more. Maybe when it get's a little nicer.

I wimped out during the last week too, and I wasn't even sick. (I am now, but I wasn't last week) You did awesome, and you got all of us motivated to challenge ourselves too! Thanks!

It ended up being a tougher month than I planned for, but I managed to eke some workouts in.

(I even walked in a circle by my house when Lexi was sick, with my cell phone. To see the sun while it was out.)

This week: I started taping fitTv's shimmy series. It's not too mortifying considering no one can see me...

I walked home from class about once a week for the first three weeks and from class to the city center every weekday, so about 3 miles a week plus riding the bike 3 or 4 times a week, even for just ten minutes to go to the store. I also took the bike to class everyday the last week instead of the bus. Lost about 9 pounds.

Well, I lost 4 lbs, but it was due to diet, not exercise. As I hang my head in shame, I have to admit that I only worked out the first week. We have all sorts of extra curriculars going on at night right now and a bad sleeper (Jocelyn) so I can't get up early in the morning to work out. But, I am going to try harder this month. I moved the drums out of my bedroom (long story) so I can lock myself away for a bit each day.

i didn't take part... but i reckon you are so excused!!

I stuck to my routine, religiously. Every. Single. Day.

Treadmill for 30 mins, stairmaster or some other cardio for 15, 200 crunches, every morning. Sometimes even 50-100 squats or lunges.

And then the alarm went off and I woke up.

I didn't do so well myself in the 'fit' part of it but I did lose some weight, kept up on my water intake, and did fairly good on my eating. So I call it a good month.

I lost 5kg this month, so I definitely had a fit February.
Now I'm having a chilled March, but I can start gentle exercise in about a week, so I'm hoping to get back into it.

I actually did allright. Exercising 3 - 5 times a week and eating a little healthier seems to agree with me.
