In the grand tradition of my family I am offering up drunken post cards to the masses.
What? Drunken Postcards? Surely not!
No really, post cards are to be had, and since my cousin is the one responsible for them getting mailed they're certain to get out in a timely manner.
The situation is this, my cousin Mie is coming for a visit in a little over a week. While here she'll be a guest on Strange Love, attend a Tiki Party and be audience to a performance by the lovely and talented Doc Normal & John Borroz Trio.
How can we not do something special to commemorate these events?
Do you want a drunken post card from Mie and I? Leave me a comment to let me know, and if I don't have your address from prior merriment email it to me to make sure the post card arrives safe and sound.
All addresses must be received by Wednesday July 30, 2008.
Oh.. and WOOO HOOO!

that thing with the mail...
Not too long ago I did that thing where I sent out postcards. Remember that? Yeah it was a lot of fun. So much fun that when my cousin decided to come to Portland for a little end of summer visit she thought she would do it too.
We plotted. We schemed and decided it would be best to drink a few margaritas and THEN write the postcards.
But not enough people asked her for them... for my taste. If I'm going to get loopy and write stuff I want to form an assembly line of semi sober writing and hilarity.
Sooo... Do any of you want a Drunken Portland Postcard from the fab pair of Mielikki & CamiKaos?
Sign on up here. You have until Friday at 8am. If I have your address from my previous postcard party then just leave a comment. If I don't have your address please comment and then send me an e-mail with your mailing address to mommifiedme at gmail dot com.
Woo hoo.

FAVOR???
And I need to ask a favor... I am having trouble with blogger right now so if you pop by and read this, even if you don't want a post card, even if you have NOTHING to say can you just leave a dot or some form of comment so I can tell if anyone is actually able to access my page.... I am getting so frustrated.

state of the kaos
There have been a few requests for information. For updates. Because I am so thoroughly me I have simply ignored them in an attempt to evade answering...
But soon I fear it shall not work so I will answer the bathroom question.
How is the bathroom coming along?
Not at all friends, not at all.
You see we have gone past the part which I can do on my own and delved into the world of work for Mr. Kaos.
Mr. Koas, as you may not realize has a "real job". What some would call a "day job" though I find that term silly and unreasonable since he works in the morning and sometimes at night as well, and most certainly in the evening. And sometime in his sleep.
So as it stands we were prepared to work on the bathroom this weekend until he became very uneasy about the plumbing. So we didn't actually do any work in the bathroom LOCATION but he did some work to get new pipes running into the bathroom and the rest of the house.
So the bathroom has a brand new tile floor, a lovely tile transition from the wood floor in the hall and grout. It has roughed in plumbing and other than that a lot of bare studs... oh and the new window.
At this rate we will have the bathroom ready when K graduates from college.... although the actual goal is to have it finished by the time the Kaos grandparents visit for Christmas (because they will not be visiting if there is only one working bathroom for 5 people, that is not ANYONE'S idea of a fun family event).
So there is your update. Don't look for much to happen next weekend. My friend is getting MARRIED and I get to go watch like the voyeur that I am. Ooh, hot wedding action. Then the following weekend, eh, don't look for much to happen, my cousin Mielikki is coming to visit for a long weekend and we will have better things to do than plumb and insulate and drywall and, you know bathroom what not. Like drinking and playing and writing postcards to some of her bloggy pals. Postcards scribed under much boozage from my very own house. Possibly from the very table at which I now write. Because it isn't enough that I steal a good idea, then my peeps gotta do it to.
Hmmm... You know you might have time to go cozy up to her if you want a postcard... I think you do.
With that said I am off to my facebook page to go play pirates. Arrr...... it's addicting.

the post postcard post...
the dirty little secret... oh I must share something awful, shameful, untoward...
While I bought each and every postcard in Anaheim, addressed them and dutifully wrote each note in my hotel room, I did not mail them from California.
My hotel, it seems, was woefully lacking stamps for sale. They could merely post them for me... Well that wasn't good enough for little ol me. I wanted them to have a DL postmark but I couldn't find stamps there either, lots and lots of mail boxes though... I guess I should have purchased stamps before I got on the plane.
So because of the stamp debacle I said "screw it, I'll do it when I get home"
I think that is actually a quote. You see it was my 2nd to last day there, I was spending the day with a friend I hadn't seen in 9 years, The Chadness, and we wanted to get to the park and get the fun underway. So I decided the Portland postmark would have to suffice. It will won't it? I suppose you could all be hurt and angry an decide that my postcard is crap and tear it up the moment you eyes lay on it.
I hope you don't.
I hope you carry it by its corner like the stinky diaper that it is and welcome it into your home.
A warning note though, a few of them are funny, a few of them are true, a couple are random, sentimental or downright lovey... So deal with it! I invite you though if you enjoyed your card to scan it in and put it up for all the world to see. Then let me know about it okay? If more than 3 of you do so I will put up a little area in my side column linking to my postcard people... Ohh, exclusive little group that you are.
*****
On an only slightly unrelated note someone out there in the interlove is celebrating a birthday today and to her I say: Happy birthday babe. You've had some tough years and some really tough years... but you've had some great ones too, here is hoping that this year is greater than the greatest and the next is greater still.
Drop by and send her some birthday wishes won't you?

And on a completely unrelated note I am now finished with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, feel free to email me.

the prognosis doctor?
Mother fricken motherboard.
However bad this may sound this is very very good.
Why?
Because I am a total loser. Because we did not yet have our wireless super drive thing to back up to. Because I didn't back up my stuff. Because there were months of photos on my computer. School assignments. Favorites that I can not hope to recreate.
But because it is my motherboard NOT my hard drive we were able to download all my data. All of it.
Can I get a collective sigh of relief? No? Maybe just a little one?
This is where I say from now on I will be a good girl who backs her stuff up every week. In fact lets pick a day that shall be forever known as back up day.
Say Monday?? Monday is good for me. Is it good for you? So every Monday I will take my little computer (when it comes home) and back it up somewhere on to the 2 collective terabytes of data storage we have in this house.
With that said I can breathe easier. My little laptop is going back to the manufacturer to get this glaring defect replaced. After all I only had it for 5 months. Still though it's a mighty good thing we paid for that extra 2 year warranty because it would be costing us a bucket of money to get this thing fixed and that would piss. me. off. ROYALLY.
**********
Speaking of all things royal, we are leaving very soon so I thought I would give you one last chance to ask me for one of my amazing (much over hyped) postcards. Yes it is really true, I CamiKaos the royal pain in the ass, will send you a postcard while I am on vacation, BUT, I can only do that if you leave me a comment asking for a postcard and then send me your address at mommifiedme at gmail dot com.
Today is the deadline. That means that you need to get those requests to me before I wake up tomorrow morning.
Because when I wake up Thursday morning I am going to compile THE LIST of my lovely postcard people, print that sucker out and take it with me to the land of magic mouse mayhem. Only people on that list will be getting a post card. Why? Because as gifted and amazing as I am, I am not a psychic.
Which leaves me one last thing to contemplate for my little blog here. What to do while I'm away. I had thought about just ditching you all for a week, I also considered guest bloggers. But in the end I decided even if you didn't miss me while I was gone I might miss you... So my solution was a simple one; I will post (although it may be sporadically and sugar happy crazy pink marsh mellow fluff, cause apparently I should embrace the marsh mellow fluff) while I am on vacation through the magic of the hotel internet. But it will only be at nigh and I won't be able to read all of your blogs (though I will try to catch up when I get home but only if you write stuff that's GOOD while I'm gone). And... umm.. most of the posts will probably be gushing love about my kid and or my husband and di$sneyland... or about my new bras... I am taking them both with me.
so until tomorrow....

to do
It's idea thief & consumer whore all rolled into 1 little bundle... the bundle of me.
A while back Mr. Fab wrote his dear readers sick and twisted post cards. I did not receive one. No postcard for little miss CamiKaos. Ignored. Unloved. Dejected.
Of course in all fairness I didn't ask for one or give him my address so eh, probably not so much his fault?
This brings me to my point, my idea thieving... my further consumer whoring...
I'm taking a trip and when I go I am sure to see postcards everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
So who wants one?
I, the greatly inflated CamiKaos, will send you a post card. I can't guarantee it will come from *that* place, I may get tired of mouse faces and princesses and little boys who refuse to grow up (cause hello, we've all seen that).
But if you ask me for a postcard here in the comments and then send me an email (mommifiedme at gmail dot com) I will send you one. Oh and that email, it should contain your address... even if I know you out there, in the real world, even if I hand made your wedding invitations, even if I am your crazy twin, cousin, sister or your sister in law (I really do mean it send me your address if you want one cause I am shit at recalling addresses).
So do you want me to send one? To you? Of your very own? In my very own handwriting from my own little hand?
Because I have the love. And because it is a really good idea. That isn't mine.
Now I can't vouch for the content of the postcard. It could be naughty, it could be nice, it could contain saccharine sweetness, be full of lies or confess to horrible things I've never done (or did I?).
None the less I am jumping on the postcard bandwagon, so if you want one I will hook. you. up.
That's right.
I have the love people, and I need to get rid of it.
