these shoes were made for walking...

Ordinarily I'm all about boots... really I am, in fact whenever I hear These Boots Are Made for Walking (the Nancy Sinatra version) I get a little breathy and excited. It makes me feel like a sex kitten instantly.

Now that I mention it, I'm wondering right now if my deep love of boots (I even wore boots under my wedding gown) has more to do with this song than I know. I heard the song long before I began purchasing my own footwear... I even recall singing it into my hairbrush while watching my performance in the mirror that hung behind my bedroom door when I was a kid.

Wow you guys, I've just made a huge revelation about a part of my persona... the boot wearing tough girl part of me might be thanks, in large part, to Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood (who wrote the song but for obvious reasons couldn't pull it off quite the way Nancy did).

I love it! My oh my isn't blogging therapeutic!

But really I'm not talking to you about boots today, but shoes, walking shoes in particular. I mention them because it looks like I'll be in need of a good pair of walking shows in the near future so that I can comfortably complete the Kaiser Permanente 5 Miler.

A few days ago my very good friend and favorite cohort, missburrows, let me know about an event she was planning to take part in. And by let me know I mean she poked me again and again talking about it until I realized she might like some company for the event so I offered to join her. What could be more fun though than two good friends encouraging each other and getting through the 5 mile walk that happens during the Portland Marathon?

Why many friends of course! So in the grand style of missburrows and I, we're forming Team Naughty! Our plan is to surround ourselves with other fun individuals who want to complete the walk with us.

Unlike Camp Naughty, the 5 mile walk team will be coed. We've already had 3 lovely ladies and one wonderful man sign on to join us. If you'd like more information or you'd just like to track our progress head on over to the former Camp Naughty page. We're giving it a revamp for our team where we'll keep track of our planning and goings on, including the party we're planning to proceed the event!

And now back to your regularly scheduled boot loving CamiKaos...

I used to like that song, but now? It totally gets on my nerves! As a kid, I think most girls did that thing with the mirror and hair brush, right? Especially to this song! I'll bet K loves it, too!
Good luck in the walk! Too bad I won't be there. :(

This is totally from Jo. Note the proper use of capitals. I was here on Holly's machine about to say 'hi'. But then she made me watch and video her thing last night. I made her promise to leave a comment for me, but she must have been very busy indeed to forget such a promise. I know that ordinarily Holly's word is as good as gold. So this must be a one-off.

Sybil: I can't help loving it

Holly: I'll have my iPhone you can call me.

Jo: She obviously has things on her mind... I'm so glad you came by sweetie

Holly: tsk tsk tsk.

I used to love that song too and would strut around in my mum's boots to it. And walking boots can be sexy too.

That settles it, I'm never going to let my daughter hear that song!
