nothing to say?

Some days I sit here with nothing at all to say but when I start to type invariably something comes up in my mind and I just write... something.

Most days I start just like this, with a mind dump, and I wind up deleting the first half of what I wrote and starting with something I thought of somewhere around the middle of the page. It was a technique I learned in a Jr. High creative writing class.

Who says we don't use that education every day?

Oh, see right there. That's where the little spark goes in my brain. It didn't even take half a page for me to realize what I want to talk about today. Not more DL talk, no discussion of lounging by the pool or the huge anticipation of leaving in one month. I'm not going into how I am finally about to lay tile to floor this Saturday, though maybe I will tell you about that tomorrow.

What I'm going to say is how very. incredibly. totally. nervous I am about something starting today.

School.

I am 30. 30. I have a 5 year old. And a 40something year old. And I am starting school.

I make it sound so dramatic, it's just an on-line course, and it is for something I love LOVE to do. So it shouldn't be a big deal, but none the less I am just a big jumble of nerves and shakes and crazy today in anticipation of logging in for my first assignment. After 13 years away from school it still makes me crazy.

I'm scared, I'm excited, and I'm curious about the unknown.

Plus I wanted to take this opportunity to warn you that since it's a writing course you all may be forced to accept an assignment once a week in lieu of a normal blog post.

So I'm off to log in, to see what's what, to do my thang. To see if I can go off and be the best I can be. Next time though, I promise to take an editing course so you all don't have to read the crazy stuff I could have taken out... although that's usually my favorite part.

**on a lovely and no doubt nerve related side note I forgot my password and had to go through the automated actions to find out what it was, only to realize it was the password I thought it was but I was a nut case and entered it with the caps lock on... so now... class is in session**

Yeeehaaa! Study double hard so and split the extra smart with me. I need some of that thar, edukashun, stuff.

We must kinda carry one of the same genes or something. I get freaked out (nervous / out of place) when I enter ANY school, even when it was to visit daughter's teachers during parent - teacher's conference week. Ack! Pop a corn cob in my eye and twist it hard.

Best of luck to you. I started school myself just last semester after being out of it for over a decade. It felt good to be back.
