curses....

I've said it before, but his whole daylight savings time change hoo ha really pisses me off. Really. What is the most upsetting to me? Is it that it is an unnecessary occurrence that inconveniences people across America (except in Indiana where they put a stop to the madness). No, it's that I woke up this morning at 8:23 am and I don't know what time it "really" is. It's Monday. It's my sleepy day. On Mondays I sleep until K wakes up. Then I make her a breakfast she can bring into my room and let her watch cartoons on TiVo until I am ready to wake up. There aren't too many Monday's like this left. She's starting kindergarten in the fall and then it's up and out of the house 5 days a week...

Is K awake right now? No, no in fact she is not, she's sound asleep. But no, not me, I am awake. Wide awake and groggy at the same time and I can't sleep because I got so obsessed over what time it would be if we hadn't changed the clocks.

Among all the other things I have heard hated about it, it's a conspiracy to keep crazy people like me who don't sleep awake. Curse you day light savings time! I'm going back to sleep...

Okay - I like it! Haha - I really do! It doesn't bother me at all. I like the reasons for it (energy wise), I like waking up to sunshine (though it didn't happen today in our blasted Ohio weathery town) - and I am, too, a sleeper! But I will admit I was so paranoid going to sleep last night. I kept thinking the time couldn't be right, and then worrying still that I was all screwed up once I found out it WAS right. I think I like being all discombobulated! (It's the poor momma's buzz trip! Haha.)

Arizona is the only continental state that doesn't follow daylight savings time.
I really don't know where they get the calculations that daylight savings time saves energy. I have a hard time waking up too but with my three young boys as soon as I see the sunlight through the windows I am awake.
I have heard that it takes about a week to adjust to the change and it is especially hard for children to adjust.
By the way found this lovely site through TopMama!!!

Wishing you all the best.
