I find it funny that some days I have everything in the world to write about. I will have ten different subjects that seem shiny and brilliant to me and I say to myself "me, you have to pick one"
So I will pick the one that seems the most fun or worthwhile and jot the others down as notes for days that I have no inspiration... no spark... days like today...
What I've found though is that those enormously funny blog ideas that I save for myself from my brilliant days are not so funny, not so interesting, not so bright and frankly don't make so much sense on a day that I can't think of something to write about anyway...
Give me the most fabulous and interesting topic in the world... something like, oh I don't know, I just won 30 million dollars and never bought a lottery ticket.... (I did not win any money at all... so don't ask for any) and today I would turn it into something as monotonous as my weekly chore of tapping down the nails that insist on popping up in my old hardwood floors...
Here is a list of ideas I have discounted:
1) Why does K come all the way down stairs to ask me to come upstairs to go to the bathroom with her?
2) Why do adults work so hard on making cartoons for other adults? I'm not saying they shouldn't, I'm a big big adult swim fan... I'm just curious.
3) Why does my cat stare at me for extended periods of time when I am not looking?
4) Why do cats mew and rub against you begging to be petted only to run away when you reach down to pet them?
5) Why does K constantly make noise?
6) How does a 4 year old that weighs less than 35 pounds take up 3/4s of a king size bed?
7) How is K's chia pet doing? Have I come to terms with the creepy little alien sprouts?
8) How do 3 people make so much laundry that washing it is a never ending process?
9) How did that red bird get on my light post?
10) What do I want for lunch?
and the one I chose:
Is there anything at all that I find inspiring today?

and sometimes those uninspired days end up being great posts. I'm totally with you on this one.
I want Garbanzo's for lunch, but sadly that yumminess has gone the way of the dodo. At least you have the inspiration to just sit down and write. Me? I just keep it all in my head. It would make a great book someday, but I believe it is permenatly stuck in the head because I'm too lazy to put it out there.
