There's a song that I love: "Song for My Father" by Horace Silver
It's been running through my head over and over and over for a week... It won't leave. I'm listening to my favorite version of it even as I type and there is no hope of regaining control of my mind. It has me in it's clutches. Even as K sings "yeah yeah yeah I can't send the message to the fire" to the music it stays and brings me some peace & sanity.
Why am I subjecting you to the repetitious blues in my mind? Why are you forced to either hear that haunting tune in your own mind or wonder what the hell I am talking about? Because I know I won't be writing tomorrow. I'll be too busy then, but for this moment I can sit here and type and hear the music and know that the world can be a place for beautiful creation...
So that is my thought today, or rather tomorrow. Sometimes the most beautiful things come into the world and aren't we lucky when they stay and we can hold them and some how make them a part of who we are.
Unfortunately for anyone around, who I am sings along...
